Notice is hereby given by the Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) of its intent to contract with Weir-Jones Engineering Ltd. for the supply and delivery of fibre optic distributed temperature sensing (DTS) cable for the CVRD’s Sewer Conveyance Project. As part of the Comox Valley Sewer Conveyance Project, the CVRD is installing a new sewer forcemain with construction scheduled to begin early 2024. Installation of two leak detection DTS cables within the common trench is planned to help monitor for potential leaks within the system. The supplier will provide engineering and design services along with the supply of 20,000m of four multi-mode fibre DTS cable, in an armoured stainless steel jacket.
